Yoga Instructor

I found yoga in my late mid 20s and practiced and apprenticed with a teacher for many years before exploring other styles.

It was during this time I started to develop a desire to learn more about the workings of the body and so my formal study began and continues.

I have now been practicing Yoga over 25yrs and have been privileged to practice with and learn from some incredible yoga teachers. I’ve tried many styles of yoga and found myself inspired to learn and teach Yin Yoga and Hatha Flow yoga.

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced practice using long-held specific yoga poses that exert positive stress on subtle tissues (ligaments, tendons, fascia). This, in turn, initiates the body’s repair response, leading to stronger, healthier and more supple tissue and a calmer central nervous system. We invite breath and mindfulness practice to heal the body on all levels. It is suitable for all bodies and yoga levels.

Slow Flow to Yin

This class starts with movement to open and release tension in your body and moves into long luxurious yin poses to unravel stress and strains. We connect deeply to the breath inviting healing to the mind and body.

These are both very different styles but very complementary to each other in their Yin and Yang natures and we should aim to find a balance between both.

I’ve realised that many people attend yoga classes and often come away feeling intimidated and unheard and even injured, this saddened me as I know yoga can and should be made accessible to every BODY and it should be a practice that is healing and nurturing even when we are doing a practice that may be challenging us on many levels…MIND. BODY. SOUL.

I want people to leave my class feeling they were safe, listened to and no matter their challenges it was accessible.

I’ve spent time studying the biomechanics and issues of the body and have explored many styles of yoga to find what may be best suited for all yogis.

Being a Craniosacral and massage therapist, I have an understanding of the body and can guide students safely through yoga classes.

It is my passion and privilege to teach and share the gift of yoga.
